How to Boil Eggs

 View Transcript                                         View more videos.

The secret to successful hard-boiled eggs is to add a little salt to the water. Fill a small saucepan with enough cold water to cover the eggs. Add a quarter teaspoon of salt. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat and boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let eggs cool in water, about 20 minutes.

When cool enough to handle, lift eggs out of the water with a slotted spoon and transfer to a plate. Then simply crack and peel to eat.
